Inge Jonassen is professor at the Department of Informatics at the University of Bergen. He is also director of the inter-disciplinary research centre Computational Biology Unit at the same university. Jonassen is developing novel computational methods for analysis of molecular biology data focusing on methods for the automatic discovery of patterns in large data sets. He also works on development of methods for biomarker discovery mainly towards precision medicine targeting cancer and neurodegenerative diseases.
